PHOENIX, ARIZONA:  The reports of a woman named Jessica Christine Lindstrom, 34, created tension after she went for a hike at the Deem Hills Recreation Area on Friday morning, August 4, and never returned. Phoenix Police confirmed on Friday evening that the dead body of the mother of four was discovered on the north side of Deem Hills Recreation Area, near 51st Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

According to her friends, Lindstrom left for the hike at about 8.30 am. When she was reported missing at around noon, firefighters, Phoenix Police, and their mobile command were on the location. Loved ones also built search tents in an effort to locate Lindstrom alive, reported Fox 10. Lindstrom's body was discovered a few yards from the trail at around 5 pm. "Specifics about the discovery remain part of the ongoing investigation," said a statement from the authorities, adding that nothing suspicious has been identified as of now.

Who was Jessica Christine Lindstrom?

Lindstrom, who was from Oregon, was in Phoenix to see family, as per her friends. The Phoenix Fire officials are apparently looking into her death as being caused by the heat, according to Fox 10's report. Notably, Maricopa County had recorded at least 39 heat-related fatalities as of Wednesday, August 2, as per AZ Central. "Our thoughts and prayers and our hearts go out to her family and everyone struggling with this tragedy right now. Right now, the cause of death is still under investigation. It is safe to say that we just want to remind everybody right now during this heat just be very mindful of the times you’re hiking and to take every safety precaution you can while hiking," stated Captain Kimberly Ragsdale of the Phoenix Fire Department.

'Lively, strong-willed, and a wonderful mother to her four sons'

Lindstrom's father characterized his daughter as lively, strong-willed, and a wonderful mother to her four sons. She worked as a nurse and was in town to see family for the baptism of one of her sons. Her heartbroken father stated that she was born in Peoria but now resides in Oregon, adding that she used to hike the same trails with her husband frequently while she lived in Arizona, as told to Arizona's Family.

There is a GoFundMe set up to assist with Lindstrom's funeral costs. Jessica’s mother, Angela Adams shared a message on the fundraiser site, "We do feel all the love and prayers, and they continue to sustain us as we travel this new path. Oh how we will miss our Jessica, but we are buoyed in our faith in Christ’s Atonement that makes it possible for us to live together as a family again."
