The 23-year-old gymnast, who received a lot of hate when she dropped out of a few competitions in Tokyo this year due to a mental block, took to her Twitter to address some of the negativity that people send her way.

She told people that she hopes their families don't see the kind of hate they spew.

Biles Said She Receives A Lot Of Negative Reactions

On Thursday morning, Biles sent out a post commenting on the hate she receives.

She kept it classy, telling people she wishes they are never on the receiving end of what they are dishing out.

"Some of the stuff I’ve been through publicly and having such negative responses makes me hope your peers/family don’t see what y’all tweet," she said.

"It’s really sad. I hope they never go or have gone through some of the same things," the champion continued.

It's unclear if she is talking about a specific incident, or the collective trolling she has been subject to the past few months.

After withdrawing from some events in the Olympics because she was struggling mentally, Simone was faced with a lot of criticism and a lack of sympathy. Some of it was from famous people, like Piers Morgan and Texas politicians.

She also got backlash last month for revealing she is pro-choice.

When news broke this week that her boyfriend Jonathan Owens was cut from the Texans NFL team, there was a resurgence of the trolls, with many suggesting he also had a mental block like she did in Tokyo.

Fans Replied To Her, Offering Their Love And Support

People were quick to send Simone support in the replies, telling her that she should pay no mind to the haters.

"You’re a star keep shining. They always hate the light," one person told Biles.

Another user encouraged the gymnast to just block the trolls because they are just unhappy and taking it out on her because she is "super super super inspiring".

"People are so brave behind screens queen, ignore them! we love u," someone else chimed in.

A few people commended her on how well she is handling the situation.

"This is such a mature and compassionate response to what must be such vile and evil comments. Respect," one person wrote.
