Meghan Markle made an unexpected appearance in Notting Hill yesterday, looking equal parts casual and chic in a navy peacoat, jeans, and nude heels. The Duchess of Sussex was leaving lunch when she was spotted in the London neighborhood, the blog Meghan's Mirror, which documents the royal's latest looks, confirms.
After dressing up in sequins for a charity gala performance with Prince Harry earlier this week, Meghan dressed down for yesterday's meeting, layering her dark overcoat over a distressed denim.

She finished off the ensemble with a few handy accessories, including a Mulberry tote bag, aviator sunglasses, and Stuart Weitzman suede pumps. Though she usually frequents long, wavy 'dos, she wore her hair up for the daytime rendezvous.

Of course, this isn't the duchess' first time wearing ripped denim under the royal spotlight. Back in September 2017, she famously wore skinny light wash jeans with slits in the knees during her first official public appearance with Prince Harry, at the Invictus Games in Toronto.
She's since worn (unripped) jeans for certain engagements, including appearances during her royal tour, where she wore darker styles by J.Crew and Outland Denim.

Including yesterday's luncheon look, Meghan has shown serious range with her royal style this week. On Wednesday night, she went went for full glamour in a glittery Roland Mouret gown to watch Cirque du Soleil's Totem at Royal Albert Hall with her husband.

Earlier that day, she went for a clean, streamlined monochrome look for a royal visit to the animal charity, The Mayhew. There, she stacked up on neutrals in an Armani coat, H&M maternity turtleneck dress, Paul Andrew slingback heels, and a Stella McCartney bag.

Meghan showed us she can play with color this week, too. On Monday, during her and Harry's visit to Birkenhead, she paired a bold red coat and shoes with a bright purple dress. The ensemble, which included outerwear from Sentaler and a frock by Aritzia, was also reminiscent of a color palette frequented by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
