Channing Tatum And Ex-Wife Still Feuding Over Magic Mike Money

July 2024 · 2 minute read

Channing Tatum and his ex-wife Jenna Dewan are struggling to finalize their divorce settlement, and sources suggest that the two are feuding over the Magic Mike franchise. Lawyers representing the two were reportedly in court for a hearing on June 2, where the former spouses made an eleventh-hour plea to the judge for more time to negotiate their divorce settlement.

As per Radar, the court planned on scheduling a date for a trial in the former couple’s dispute over profits related to the Magic Mike franchise. However, according to court documents, the judge received a request from the two asking for additional time to negotiate a deal.

The judge agreed to the request, and a new hearing has been scheduled for September 22.

The two previously asked for additional time in December 2021. Radar reported — at the time — that the two were still hashing out a settlement deal so they could avoid a nasty trial.

While Tatum starred in Magic Mike and its sequel, Magic Mile XXL, the franchise also includes a reality show on HBOMax and live shows in Las Vegas and London. Dewan helped her ex-husband find a choreographer for the Magic Mike live shows and even moved to London to take care of their daughter, Everly, while Tatum worked on the project.

Dewan filed for divorce from Tatum in October 2018, after 10-years of marriage. The actress requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughter. The judge signed off on the first part of their divorce in 2019, which rendered them legally separated. However, the two have yet to resolve several other issues, including a property settlement and spousal support.

While the two might be sparring over money, Channing recently told People that they see eye-to-eye on their daughter — suggesting that she wait until she’s at least 18 before getting into showbiz.

“Jenna and I, we’ve always met eye to eye on this one,” Channing said. “It’s pretty tough to be a child actor or artist. I also believe that if you really want to be a beautiful artist, you have to go live a real life.

He added: “And I think kids in Hollywood, in general, there’s a lot of things that are standing in the way to living a very normal life in the world.”
